Firstly, congratulations! Welcoming a new little person into your family is one of life's biggest blessings. I know from experience though, that it can also feel totally overwhelming, and the thought of planning a photoshoot at a time when you're sore and sleep deprived can seem like utter madness!
My job is to make this as easy as possible for you, so that you can focus on your baby and being present with them, confident that I will do the rest. To help make this happen, you'll receive a welcome guide when you book with me, full of tips and tricks to help make the session go smoothly. The guide is also full of styling advice, and I will be available on WhatsApp or email to chat through any wardrobe questions because I know how tricky this time can be from that perspective! I also have a selection of newborn outfits available to use if you'd like to remove all the guesswork.
The photoshoot will last any time from 1 hour up to three hours, depending on how fussy baby is and how often we need to stop for feeds. There's no pressure to make sure baby sleeps the whole time or to 'get it done' in a certain time frame.
Before your photoshoot you'll also receive an in-depth questionnaire which will help us to plan locations, whether you'd rather be out in nature or in the cosy bubble of your own home, the choice is totally yours. It will also help me to plan a session that's totally personal to you and the memories that you treasure most
Although my sessions are lifestyle-focused, you'll also be gently guided into poses that feel natural, and are designed to show the bond that you already share with your little one, as well as being as flattering as possible in this delicate newborn stage.

A Little More Magic
Newborn sessions take place between birth and six months. To make sure that you don't miss this window it's best to schedule in a newborn session as soon as you know your due date, we can always reschedule the exact date closer to the time depending on when baby arrives.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY SESSION?
I always advise wearing neutral colours and avoiding bold patterns or logos. It's important to make sure that all the family's outfits work together. Think complementing, not matching!

WHAT DO I WEAR?
I will give you in-depth guidance to help you to plan your location, I always recommend to choose a place that you love. New born photoshoots work well at home where you have all the spare nappies and clothes you need on hand. If baby is a little older or you are ready to be out and about, we could be somewhere out in nature like your favourite beach or up on Dartmoor. We're spoilt for choice here in the South Hams and I'm happy to offer recommendations.
what location should i choose?
A newborn photoshoot typically lasts between 60 minutes and three hours, depending on how fussy baby is and how often we need to stop for feeds.
How long will the shoot take?
Outdoor sessions work best at golden hour, approximately an hour after sunrise or before sunset. Home shoots can be done any time during daylight. Please get in touch if you have any specific timing preferences and I will do my best to accommodate that.
WHAT TIME WILL THE SHOOT BE?
I shoot all over the South Hams and South Devon. Please get in touch if you are outside this area and we can discuss additional travel costs.
