You've heard it before but these hazy, magical newborn days really are fleeting. Before you know it you'll have a wriggling, running toddler on your hands and these early days will be just a memory. Looking back on my own girls' first weeks and months I remember thinking that I would never forget how tiny they were, their first smiles and teeny hands and feet, but somehow new memories overlay the old and it's only when I look back at pictures that the small details come rushing back.
It is always such an honour to be invited to join a family at this special time, to help capture forever the earliest memories of you getting to know this tiny human. A newborn session will be a calm and stress-free experience totally led by your baby, resulting in natural, timeless photographs that you will treasure forever, ensuring that you never forget just how tiny and perfect they were.

Newborn sessions take place from birth to six months old.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
Neutral colours work best. Cosy blankets and snuggly knits look really nice and work well to keep baby warm and sleepy, especially if you've picked a location outdoors.
Mama, this is a season where you might not feel like yourself again yet. Longer A-line dresses that are feeding friendly will be more comfortable and help you feel your best.
As you have probably realised by now, babies can get pretty messy! It is definitely worth packing a few backup outfits (for you and baby) in case of accidents. Once you have booked I will send you an outfit guide full of tips and advice on what to wear.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
In these early days home shoots are really nice. You will feel more relaxed and comfortable in your own space as you are getting used to this new season, and it does make it easier for feeding and the inevitable nappy changes.
Equally a photoshoot in your favourite place in nature can be stunning and a chance to step out of the newborn fog for a few hours. This can be especially nice for slightly older babies and if there are siblings who would benefit from a run around outside.
what location should i choose?
If you would like your shoot to take place whilst baby is still tiny and sleepy it is important to book as soon as possible. We can pencil in a date for 7-10 days after your due date, and once baby is here we can either confirm the date or adjust is as needed.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK YOU?
I travel all over the South Hams and further by arrangement.
do you travel?
Newborn shoots last between 2-3 hours, depending on whether baby needs to feed, is feeling fussy etc. As I'm sure you're beginning to realise, babies are don't work to a schedule! So we will take things slowly and let baby be our guide.
